Holy Crapoly I haven't seen one of these since my dad and I used Stat material and took a pic out of his office window at Avenue Road and Bloor Street in the early '80s. These are sooooo cool - the only thing I will have to find is the material and chemicals to actually process the print as I don't have a darkroom.... I'll be back with a photo from the Pinhole Camera
i absolutely do not understand how to get the film into the camera. i've got it in the box, set up and everything, but how do i connect it to the actual camera?
i dont know why but after i print out everything and make the interior, it doesnt fit into the exterior. I made the peyote and i was disappointed that the interior is too bulky to fit inside
Hi, thats cool. I also designed pinhole camera 5 years ago> http://huberokororo.net/index.php?menu=produkty&produkt=rubikon&page=
Just as a reaction on digital techno. It is an redesign of Dirkon from 1979. But yours are more funny like a toy.
to zakorath:
oh @o@"~ then it should be the thickness of a business card those type!? by the way, how large do I need to open in the front of the "lens" ..? the red circle only? or larger?? thx very much....XD

I prefer rollfilm and pin hole photography are fun in itself. But what about a template/model for a 5x4", film handling problem would be a piece of cake - just a bit of tape. One shot
that's great..i've downloaded all the cameras and i'll try to built all of them, and of course, i'm going to take a look and use them!
Thanks for the project, thanks for the time spended....great ideas, sahre this is great...
thanks
for those of you having problems like
HELEN: where the film does not fit in the box. for some reason the download is sized at 8.2 x 10.8. it needs to be RESIZED for 8.5 x 11. I KNOW FROM EXPERIENCE I had to build two of them because I ran into the problem. Photoshop does quick work of this.
ROBYN: you can load the camera in regular light. it is only the first frame that will get burnt. just make sure to wind your film to the next frame before you shoot. a big paper clip is handy to wind.
ADRINA: i built my camera using black posterboard. its just thick enough and you can glue the paper onto the non gloss side. just make sure to poke every other dotted line so that the folds will crease cleanly.
AllY: you can cut out the red circle out if you like, just make sure the hole on the foil is the size of a pin hole.
i'm new to pinhole and have only done it either directly on photo paper and then developed it in the darkroom or with ilford b&w film.
i want to try color film but am hesitant to get it processed at a store. any recommendations?
Its really easy! Just use store-bought film for these ones, it actually behaves essentially the same way as B&W film, you just have to take the film to the store to develop!
this is cool and all but, and this is probably because I'm new to papercraft, the instructions kind of suck. Having a few vague pictures are not nearly enough to teach a beginner how to make one of these cameras.
Maybe more instructive instructions later, please?
As much as I love the cameras on this site, it seems like there is a problem with the measurements for th exterior. I bought some 35 mm film, but the canister is about 1 mm too long to fit in the exterior. It also seems to take up too much space widthwise, leading the flaps not to be able to be glued properly. I know there have been earlier complaints of the scaling being wrong and the interior not fitting into the exterior, but that appears to have been fixed, and is not a problem for me. Could someone give me some pointers on how I could fix this?
Thanks!
which side of the the film is the side that faces the inside of the camera? the tan side or the dark slick side? and is the sizing problems of the website fixed yet?
A.you dont need to focus a pinhole camera in theory it has everything in focus
B.use the download as a template and make your camera out of stiff cardboard but increase depth of camera by 1/8th of inch you can then glue the original paper onto your cardboard camera,(if you want it to look pretty, otherwise the download is useless as its too small. Will this site publish a guide to making the camera,if so i will write one
hello...
I can't donwload the cameras???
Can you send me the files please...
I love you cameras and I really want it.
Sorry for my english but I don't speak english very well.
Thanks a lot.
i'm not able to open the pdf file. it says it's damage. is there any way that you can send me the instruction via e-mail? what should i do!?? they look so cool!
Quisiera comentar que hice la cámara, pero la caja decorada es muy pequeña y no caben los rollos fotográficos, me gustaría saber si cuentan con un archivo con las medidas modificadas.
PDF opened fine for me.. but about the size issue: I ran into the same problem and only discovered after about two hours of work!
What you have to do is when you hit "Print" from the PDF you have to change the Page Scaling (under the Page Handling section) to "None". By default, acrobat shrinks it down to 89% of the original size (don't ask me why..). After you have hit "None" then it should say 100% under "Zoom". Now you can print and it will be the correct size.
I have made the whole camera but now i am worried about shooting pictures. It says to give the film one whole turn to advance the film, but can anyone who has already shot photos with this please tell me about what it's like?
And I too agree that these instructions were not clear enough.. the camera itself is great but I didn't like not really knowing what each step of the process was.
Thanks!
i have the problem with the scaling thank you so much Thomas. I am unsure about film winding too becuase are the things on the top make out of paper that are black and white triangles supposed to actually turn or do you remove the actual camera from the exterior and manually wind it after every shot and then put it back inside the exterior. and yess I agree that they need to work on their instruction skills i even found that the diagrams were quite hard to understand and sometimes i think they missed out steps like making a hole in the exterior so that the pinhole can see through
i find it more easier to use photographic paper instead of film. but the pain was i had to go back and forth to the darkroom just to load/unload the paper.
Bonjour !
Je suis tombée par hasard sur votre site. Je cherchais des paper toys et suis arrivée ici via bigchief.
J'adore, je vous met dans mes favoris.
A bientôt pour voir le rendu de mes images ;)
Continuez.
Merci.
Hi. I was also trying out to make the camera. However, I have difficulties in trying to wind the films. How does it work actually? &if we are to use paper clip, where do we attach the paper clip. can someone help me? thanks!(:

I want to thank the blogger very much not only for this post but also for his all previous efforts. I found www.corbis.readymech.com to be extremely interesting. I will be coming back to www.corbis.readymech.com for more information.
I collected the photos today and they were all blank!
Can someone please tell me what could have gone wrong, I am sure the container has no light leaks.
Thanks.
Zena
Hello!! everybody
This camera is so cool.
I'm trying to make one, but I have some problem.
I don't have an empty film canister.
Can I use another thing instead of it?
And how can I roll the film and change to the next frame?
